Get her something which would last

Getting her a box of exotic candies would look romantic, but candies don't last do they? It is better to avoid buying gifts which are consumable especially on special occasions like Christmas

Be careful with pets

If you plan of gifting her a pet, you should think about it hard.

Pets are a big responsibility. She may not be ready to have a pet around or may be her family would not approve of it. You might feel offended if your gift is returned back to you, and you end up taking care of it.

Pets can be beautiful initially but become a responsibility with time and attachment can bring pain when they die.

Don't guess her measurements when you are planning on buying a jerkin or a top.
